Say you want to have multiple different font choices in the same WordPress article but you don’t want to go through the hassle of setting up custom style options in the style.css or manually deal with HTML code to change font family style in your WordPress post manually.
The TinyMCE Advanced plugin from the WordPress Archives is free and gives you many options, including the option to set WordPress font for posts and change it between paragraphs or at any point in a WordPress post. This means you can choose Arial font for part of your WordPress article and Times New Roman for another part or select any of several different fonts for your WordPress blog articles.
To get started you have to install TinyMCE Advanced
Installing TinyMCE Advanced in WordPress
Go to your WordPress Dashboard
Click on Plugins
Click on Add New
Type "TinyMCE Advanced"
Click Install next to the TinyMCE Advanced plugin
Click Activate Plugin
There, the TinyMCE Advanced plugin is installed, now it is time to configure it.
Configuring TinyMCE Advanced for WordPress
Click on Settings –> TinyMCE Advanced in the WordPress Dashboard
Now you will see 4 toolbars (the original 2 in the post editor and 2 blank ones) drag and drop the functions that you want to add to any combination of the toolbars above.
For the example image, if you want to add font family so you can change fonts in WordPress posts then drag the Font Family configuration to the 3rd toolbar or add it to the 1st or 2nd toolbar.
I also added styles, replace function which allows for find/replace in article, as well as the table configurations to easily add tables into articles. The horizontal ruler (HR) button was also another good easy feature to add. By default TinyMCE Advanced will also add the SuperScript and PostScript buttons too which are very helpful if you have to use those font styles.
Click Save Changes at the bottom of this screen.
Changing Font in WordPress Post Editor
Now you simply go into your WordPress post editor and click on the Visual tab, you may have to click on the "expand kitchen sink" button to see all of your new options.
Now you can select the text that you want to change the font type in WordPress
Then select the Font Family drop down and select the font that you want to use for that section.
You can set any number of font families, styles, sizes for your articles now.
TinyMCE Advanced is a great tool for easily adding the ability to change fonts in WordPress articles if you want to use varying fonts within the same article.
